Player Most Likely To Make The Atlanta Falcons Roster As An UDFA?

A couple of UDFA contracts for Atlanta could suit up week one of the NFL season

The Atlanta Falcons made a splash during this year's NFL Draft and signed some weapons to UDFA contracts. Who's a lock to make the team during training camp?

Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report has compiled a list of one athlete who has signed an UDFA contract that will make each NFL squad. For the Atlanta Falcons, his pick to make the team is Kansas Jayhawks Cobee Bryant.

"Kansas cornerback Cobee Bryant once looked like a lock as a future NFL draft pick. It didn't happen, though. Still, his aggressiveness and competitiveness are two excellent traits to help him make the Atlanta Falcons roster," wrote Sobleski.

The Falcons didn't add a true cornerback in this year's class. Billy Bowman is a safety by trade, though he spends significant time over the slot. Sobleski also argued that Bryant has a shot at a roster spot for the Falcons because the team elected to target defensive backs who will play safety or nickel instead of outside cornerback in the draft.

Bryant was projected to be a possible mid- to late-round pick in this year's NFL Draft, but by the time the draft was over, Bryant hadn't heard his name called. Bryant played well in four seasons with the Kansas Jayhawks, totaling 128 combined tackles, including 11 for loss in 47 games. He also had 22 pass defenses and 13 interceptions.

During the 2024 season, Bryant registered 37 combined tackles, including four tackles for loss, seven pass defenses, and four interceptions. Not being selected in the draft may work out in his favor. Being an UDFA gives the athlete sole control over their future destiny. Bryant could suit up for Atlanta during week one as the team's fourth or fifth defensive back.
