Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns are in a good spot regarding Felix Ojo’s recruitment. The five-star offensive tackle and Lake Ridge standout liked what he saw in Austin during his official visit last weekend.
“5-Star OL Felix Ojo tells me he loved his Texas official visit, including the time spent with the players and Kyle Flood,” Orangebloods.com writer Jason Suchomel wrote Monday on X. “Flood’s plan for development was also a big hit.”
Ojo is listed as the No. 7 overall recruit in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2026 class. Miami commit Jackson Cantwell (No. 1) is the only offensive tackle regarded higher.
“I’d say Texas is very high. Right now, Texas is the team to beat,” Ojo told Suchomel.
Since April 25, Ojo has taken official visits to Texas Tech, Colorado, Florida, Ohio State, Michigan, and Texas. He’s slated to also visit Utah this weekend. Out of those programs, only the Longhorns had an offensive tackle selected in the initial 10 picks of the 2025 NFL Draft (Kelvin Banks Jr., No. 9 overall, New Orleans Saints).
“Owns a lean, athletic looks and plays with impressive functional athleticism and movement ability,” 247Sports scouting analyst Gabe Brooks wrote in a scouting report in January. “Will continue to bulk given immense frame potential. … Capacities for strength and power are high given excellent physical tools and relative youth.
“Looks like one of the top OT prospects in the 2026 class with potential to become a multi-year high-major tackle with ample pro talent.”
The Longhorns have offered 15 offensive tackles in Ojo’s class. USC Trojans commit Keenyi Pepe was another five-star they were after.
