Fifty people were killed in Israeli attacks on targets in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical sources said on Friday, with many of the deaths in Gaza City.
Fifty people were killed since the morning, with 37 of them in the north of the Gaza Strip.
Fourteen people were killed in an Israeli air strike in the north of Gaza City alone, the medical sources said.
Palestinian media reported that they were members of one family whose house had been hit.
Many people were still buried under the rubble, according to the uncorroborated reports.
The Israeli military said it would investigate.
Meanwhile, an army spokesman published a list of all areas to which the inhabitants of Gaza City can flee, as Israel prepares an operation to control the city.
These include Nuseirat and Deir al-Balah in the centre of the Gaza Strip, as well as several neighbourhoods of Khan Younis in the south of the Palestinian territory.
"The army will use force in the Gaza City area, as it has done throughout the Gaza Strip. For your safety, please go to the areas listed immediately," military spokesman Avichai Adraee wrote in Arabic in a post on X.
Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are instructed to leave the Gaza Strip's largest city before it is brought under Israeli control.
But many residents want to remain in the city despite the danger of death because Israel has repeatedly attacked even designated safety zones in the past.
However, aid organizations warn that this will further exacerbate the already catastrophic conditions faced by the civilian population.
The Israeli military says it is taking action against the Palestinian militia Hamas and other terrorist groups in Gaza City while striving to avoid civilian deaths.
