Paige Bueckers' Dallas Wings Teammate Reacts to Injury Setback

The Dallas Wings had to announce some unfortunate news about one of their players.

The Wings have endured a tough start to the 2025 WNBA season, holding a 1–11 record and currently last in the Western Conference. Despite strong performances from rookie Paige Bueckers, the team has struggled to convert competitiveness into wins.

They've also faced roster disruptions, such as Tyasha Harris’ left knee surgery, which was announced last Tuesday. Though she is expected to make a full recovery, she will be out for the rest of the season.

On Monday, the Wings announced that forward Maddy Siegrist has been diagnosed with an anterolateral tibial plateau fracture in her right knee and sustained the injury during Wednesday's game against the Phoenix Mercury.

An hour after the Wings announced her injury, Siegrist quote-tweeted the original post and wrote "Road to recovery 🙏🏼❤️‍🩹" as the caption. The fans flooded the comments, wishing her a speedy recovery.

"wishing you a speedy recovery maddy !!" a user wrote. "we'll see u soon on the court ❤️‍🩹."

"Can’t wait for your return goat," one person commented

"wishing you all the best and have a smooth and easy recovery ❤️," a fan account dedicated to the Wings and UConn wrote. "the dallas family has your back and we’ll miss you."

Another commented, "🙁. Hoping for a speedy recovery."

"so devastating i’m really sorry to hear this! you will be back better than ever 🙌🏼," a fan wrote. "and in the meantime we will miss the way you never give up on 50/50 balls and rebounds 😓 get better soon maddy!"

One fan even joked, "maddy take my knee i don’t need it💔💔💔💔."

Siegrist, Villanova’s all-time leading scorer with 2,896 points during her college career, was drafted third overall by Dallas in 2023. After a modest rookie year, she broke out during the 2024 season, starting 13 of 27 games, averaging 9.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. This season, she’s emerged as a leader and consistent starter, as well as a mentor for the young team.
