NXT stars win multiple matches against WWE main roster talent

Cain A. Knight is a hardcore number-cruncher who has analyzed and covered pro wrestling for Cageside Seats since 2014, and followed the sport as a fan going back to the 1980’s.

The NXT brand had a pretty good showing on tonight’s (Oct. 3) episode of SmackDown.

Sol Ruca and Zaria want to prove they deserve a title shot against WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair. The NXT duo took a step towards reaching that goal by rejecting Chelsea Green’s offer to join the Secret Hervice, and then defeating Green and Alba Fyre in a tag team match. Ruca scored the pin on Green with her Sol Snatcher finishing move.

Later in the show, Rey Fenix teamed up with NXT star Je’Von Evans to beat former AAA Tag team Champions Los Garza. The WWE commentators used this match as a chance to hype up next Tuesday’s NXT vs. TNA Showdown, which Evans will take part in.
