The Warriors fell behind early in Game 3 on their home floor against the Timberwolves, looking like a team still disheveled in the wake of losing star guard Stephen Curry to a hamstring injury he suffered in Game 1, an injury that is likely to keep him out until, at least, Game 6 of the conference semifinals.
That's if the Warriors can extend the series that far. They'll need another win to do so, and their best chance figures to come on Monday, again on their home floor against Minnesota.
They should be somewhat encouraged about the fact that, after their rocky start (they trailed, 21-12, with 2:36 to go in the first quarter), they recovered and gained the lead. Still, in his postgame media session after the Game 3 loss, by a 102-97 count, coach Steve Kerr was asked what more the team will need to do to ensure they're still playing when Curry is healthy.

"Not that much, really. We're right there," Kerr said. "We feel great about our chances. This is what the playoffs are all about. There's these emotional swings and momentum shifts and we've just got to take tomorrow off and get the guys refreshed, recharged and come back in Monday and tee it up again."
The good news for the Warriors is that they managed to get through Game 3 without any further injuries, beyond that of Curry. On Sunday night, the team released its official injury report to the NBA, and there were no surprises.
Curry is listed as, "Out. Left Hamstring; Strain."
The only other name on the list is Gary Payton II, who has been playing with an injured left thumb throughout the postseason. He is again listed as, "Available."
The Warriors and Timberwolves will tip off on Monday at 10 p.m. ET.
