The Michigan Wolverines' offensive line has been widely seen as one of the best in the nation over the last few years, particularly under the Jim Harbaugh regime in Ann Arbor prior to the 2024 season.
The Wolverines sent five offensive linemen to the National Football League from their National Championship winning 2023-24 squad, leading up to last season's sold but unspectacular showing from coach Grant Newsome's line.
Recently, Pro Football Focus released its list of the top ten offensive lines in college football heading into the 2025 season, and Newsome's unit was left off in favor of two other Big Ten teams.
The list included Kalen DeBoer's Alabama Crimson Tide in the number one spot, followed by the Utah Utes, Texas A&M Aggies, Florida Gators, Oregon Ducks, Iowa Hawkeyes, Auburn Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Clemson Tigers.
The Penn State Nittany Lions were given honorable mention status while Michigan was not mentioned in the article.
The omission may come as a surprise to Wolverines fans who saw the team play late last season, when they reeled off three straight wins against Northwestern, Ohio State and Alabama.
Michigan's 2025 recruiting class included five-stars Ty Haywood and Andrew Babalola along with four-star Avery Gach, giving Newsome plenty of plug-and-play options to fill in up front in hopes of paving the way for what could be a dynamic rushing attack.
Quarterback Bryce Underwood and running backs Jordan Marshall and Justice Haynes could all approach or surpass the 1,000-yard mark next season for coach Sherrone Moore's team, if the offensive line gels in a hurry.
