Mamelodi Sundowns striker Lebo Mothiba says the team is raring to go ahead of their Betway Premiership encounter against Magesi FC on Sunday.

The defending champions will welcome Dikwena Tsa Meetse at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, having claimed a 2-0 victory over them in Seshego four weeks ago.

While Bafana Bafana dominated the headlines with their impressive showing during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, Downs used the hiatus to sharpen their skills.

“During this international break we worked very hard, we had very good training sessions with the coaches and the players that stayed behind,” said Mothiba.

On facing Magesi in quick succession, Mothiba insists the Tshwane giants take no issue with facing the same team in a space of weeks.

“No, it’s not a tricky thing mentally, we are all professional and everyone here has experience and it’s a good thing that we are playing them now because we saw how they play, and we learned how they play,” he added.

“We are ready for the because at training we have been working really hard, and I feel that all the players are ready for Sunday’s game.

“I think we all know their style of play, they are more direct with long balls and big strikers, so we are prepared for anything.

Heading into the match in third-place, Sundowns will be determined to complete a league double over the Limpopo-based outfit, as a win takes them to the summit of the table.
