Manchester United may have just found the most unlikely suitor for on-loan Antony, who’s expected to be sold in the coming months.
As it stands, fans can only speculate over where the forward will be spending the 2025/2026 campaign. If it were up to his current club Real Betis, they’d retain him for a season-long loan when his current spell expires at the end of June.
That option, however, is unlikely to be taken up by United, given that there won’t be any instant monetary gain if they sanction his departure temporarily. A buy clause or option would make the prospective deal more lucrative, but bolstering the transfer kitty this summer – rather than next – will be INEOS’ priority.
How Antony has fared with Real Betis since January switch

To say Antony looks like something of a player reborn in Spain is no understatement. He’s been granted a new lease of life with Los Verdiblancos, having started each of the 19 games they’ve played since he made the switch to Seville.
In that time, he’s returned a hugely impressive six goals and four assists, more recently adding to his tally on Thursday night with a crucial contribution in Betis’ Conference League semi-final first leg vs Fiorentina; the 25-year-old netted a tremendous weak-footed volley on the edge of the area past ex-teammate David de Gea.
Arsenal emerge as surprise suitors in Antony race
Such stellar displays haven’t gone unnoticed by clubs across the continent – and one could even allow him to continue plying his trade in the Premier League away from Old Trafford, where he’s struggled to live up to the expectations following his £86 million transfer from Ajax in 2022.
According to a brand new report from Brazilian journalist Rafael Reis, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid ‘have been inquiring’ about Antony’s availability ahead of the window opening next month.
It remains to be seen the exact price tag United would set for a player whose contract runs for another two years.
