Just like the rest of the NBA world, Magic Johnson was hyped after witnessing the thrilling Game 1 showdown between the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference finals.
The Knicks were so close to winning the game, as they were up by nine with 59 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. However, the Pacers went on a 13-4 run to tie the game at 125-125 and force overtime.
In fact, had Tyrese Haliburton not stepped on the 3-point line for the final shot in regulation, the Pacers would have already won it at that point.
Indiana carried its momentum into OT, as Andrew Nembhard took over with seven points in the extra time to give the team the 138-135 victory.
After the game, Johnson quickly took to X to chime in on what happened, all while celebrating the game that the two teams played. The NBA even went as far as to say that it was the "best game" of the 2025 playoffs so far.
"What a comeback victory for the Indiana Pacers vs. the NY Knicks!!" the Los Angeles Lakers icon wrote. "This was the best game of the entire Playoffs and really the game of the year in the NBA!"
Tyrese Haliburton led the Pacers in the win with 31 points and 11 assists, while shooting 52.2 percent from the field. Aaron Nesmith added 30 points for Indiana, while Pascal Siakam put up 17 points, five rebounds, six assists and two steals in an all-around effort.
Jalen Brunson finished with 43 points for the Knicks, while Karl-Anthony Towns had 35. Unfortunately, they simply couldn't execute in crunch time.
