Recently-departed Real Madrid star Luka Modrić is eager for a former teammate in Spain’s capital to join him at AC Milan this summer.
That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Fran García as the player in question.
The name of defender Fran has emerged as a prominent one in the media chatter surrounding Milan over recent days.
This comes with the Rossoneri, on the lookout for a replacement for Theo Hernández, understood to have earmarked the Spaniard as a potential addition.
Fran is for his part fresh off being bumped down the left-back pecking order in Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid squad, following the arrival of Álvaro Carreras.
And one individual who would seemingly be delighted to see Fran land at San Siro over the coming weeks is the aforementioned Luka Modrić.
Midfield veteran Modrić is of course fresh off taking his own talents to Italy with AC Milan this summer.
And according to AS:
‘Fran has Modrić’s approval. So far, there have only been informal inquiries and contacts regarding Fran García. But Modrić could even push for him to end up playing under Allegri.’
