Lookman & Morata under pressure to deliver this weekend in Atalanta-Como

Ademola Lookman and Alvaro Morata head into the Atalanta-Como clash needing statements of intent.

Lookman’s summer was turbulent: interest from Inter, a push to leave and a standoff with the club, before talks with coach Ivan Jurić and the board eased tensions.

A brief cameo at Torino and a start in Europe showed flashes but the winger still needs rhythm and end-product to win back the fans, Goal note.

Lookman and Morata need to impress in Atalanta-Como

Morata’s challenge is different: professionalism unquestioned but output missing. The Spain international chose Como and Cesc Fàbregas over other options and has worked selflessly but is still searching for his first goal.

The pressure ticked up with a national team omission that his head coach explained was tactical rather than punitive.

“The decision was technical,” Spain boss Luis de la Fuente said. “Morata remains very important for us and will be. I’m sure he’ll have an excellent season.”
