I'm not one to rush time, but I'd be remiss if I didn't let you in on a secret: This year's Advent calendars are already yours for the taking. The most coveted Christmas countdowns are dropping earlier and earlier — Bonne Maman ushered in the holly jelly season back in July, then came Anthropologie, Sephora and Lego. Speaking of the latter, Lego Advent calendars are back and bigger than ever: There are six all-new releases for the 2025 holiday season.
All of these 24-day countdowns bring the cheer with a mix of minifigures and easy builds, designed for kids (and kids at heart). Each one leans into a specific theme, including Harry Potter, Star Wars and Minecraft. And if you were one of the lucky ones who picked up last year's offerings before they sold out, you're in for quite the treat, because the 2025 versions have received a merry makeover. There are plenty of new characters (including a few lesser-known faces), festive accessories and spirited scenes in each set, so you can still be surprised as you peek behind the doors.
Sometimes it pays to wait, but not when it comes to Lego. Select countdowns, including the No. 1 bestselling Star Wars set, are on sale now. If we can use last year as a guide, they're bound to sell out quickly. Go forth and get your brick on!
Let's hear it for the only brand-new Advent calendar in the bunch. Lego swapped its popular Spider-Man countdown from years past for this Minecraft winter village, inspired by this year's blockbuster. The 300-piece set gives the game a seasonal spin with snowy scenes and decked-out favorites, from Santa Villager to Snow Golem (yep, the mob that throws snowballs at monsters).
Have yourself a Harry little Christmas with this magic-filled countdown. I solemnly swear that the 2025 version is even better than the last — it's full of collectibles and deeper cuts like Aragog and Thestral, along with the main characters sporting their finest Fair Isle sweaters. I'd say it's the only Advent calendar fit for a wizard, wouldn't you agree?
It's been 12 years since Frozen first lit up our screens (and our hearts) — and clearly, we're not letting it go anytime soon. Lego is doubling down on this Disney classic with its 2025 Advent calendar release. Last year, a bunch of princesses came together for a star-studded countdown, but this time around, Elsa and Anna take the spotlight in the 231-piece build. (Alright, alright, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven make an appearance too.)
