The Green Bay Packers are in an enviable position ahead of Week 3 in the NFL.
The team is 2-0 and in first place in the tough NFC North. The team's two wins are both over presumed NFC contenders as well, beating the Detroit Lions in Week 1 and the Washington Commanders in Week 2.
In recent years, much criticism has been directed at the Packers for failing to address the wide receiver position. However, the team finally drafted a receiver in the first round in 2025, selecting Matthew Golden out of Texas.
The Packers also drafted Savion Williams in the third round in 2025, and still have Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Romeo Doubs, and Christian Watson, although Watson is injured.
As a result, the team may choose to trade from it's suddenly-deep receiver room ahead of the 2025 trade deadline. Tim Crean of Pro Football Network believes the Packers could trade Doubs to one of several receiver-needy teams.
Regarding Doubs, Crean offered the following:
Romeo Doubs doesn’t have a fifth-year option as a fourth-round pick, so he is currently on the last year of his rookie deal. The Packers are flush with No. 2-type WRs, so they may want to get something for Doubs this season while they can.

As Crean mentioned, Doubs is set to be a free agent after this season, and the Packers likely won't want to spend big money to re-sign the receiver. Doubs is a solid No. 2-type receive, but far from an elite option.
However, there are several other teams that could use a player like Doubs. Crean offered the Los Angeles Chargers and New York Jets as realistic options.
The Chargers have reliable veteran Keenan Allen and the impressive young Ladd McConkey at the top of their depth chart. However, the depth isn't great, and for a talented quarterback like Justin Herbert, more reliable options would be nice.
Meanwhile, the Jets have star Garrett Wilson and not much else. Veteran journeyman Josh Reynolds and Tyler Johnson, who has never reached 400 yards in a season, are the other starting options. Doubs would immediately become a top option for the Jets.
