Nicolo Rovella is unlikely to join Inter Milan this summer as Lazio have promised Maurizio Sarri that they will not sell key starters.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Lazio midfielder Nicolo Rovella has been strongly linked with Inter Milan in recent weeks.
Reportedly, the 23-year-old is a major target for Inter in the event that Hakan Calhanoglu leaves.
If the Nerazzurri are to lose Calhanoglu, they will look to replace him like-for-like. And Rovella is a player they view as having a similar profile to the Turkish international.
Rovella Unlikely To Join Inter As Lazio Promise Sarri “No Fire Sale”

However, behind the scenes Lazio have reportedly made their own stance on Rovella clear.
The Italian international remains an absolutely key player for the Biancocelesti.
Therefore, widespread reports indicate that Lazio would not consider selling Rovella for less than his release clause – in excess of €50 million.
Inter could hope to take advantage of Lazio’s financial situation. Reportedly. it will be all but impossible for the capital club to make signings this summer without first making sales.
However, according to the Gazzetta, Lazio have promised coach Maurizio Sarri that this won’t happen.
Rather, the Biancocelesti’s priority is to keep the core of the team together. Not to sell important parts of the squad like Nicolo Rovella.
