The Israeli military on Thursday said a rocket was fired from Yemen, triggering alarm sirens in several areas of the country.
The military later gave the all-clear, saying that Israel's air-defence system had successfully intercepted the projectile. No injuries or major damage were reported.
It comes a day after the Israeli military said jets carried out airstrikes on military installations linked to the Iranian-backed Houthi militia in Yemen.
The Houthi-run Health Ministry said 35 people were killed in strikes on the capital, Sana'a, and al-Jawf province on Wednesday.
Since the war between Israel and the Palestinian militant organization Hamas in Gaza erupted in October 2023, the Houthis have repeatedly launched rockets and drones at Israel, describing the attacks as an act of solidarity with Hamas.
In response, Israel has targeted sites in Yemen it says are connected to Houthi military operations. At the end of August, an Israeli strike killed the Houthi prime minister and several other ministers.
