More than 400 people have been killed in Israeli attacks on Iran so far, according to figures provided by the Iranian Health Ministry on Saturday.
In a post on X, Hossein Kermanpour, a spokesman for the ministry, referred to "defenceless" Iranians. He said the victims were primarily civilians and included 54 women and children, as well as five medical workers.
Since the first Israeli strikes a week ago, 3,056 people have been injured in Iran, Kermanpour added.
The US-based human rights network HRANA puts the death toll higher, at 722 people, including at least 285 civilians. It says more than 2,500 people have been injured in the attacks so far.
The network relies on sources on the ground and publicly accessible data.
