Israel has attacked the Iranian port city of Bushehr, home to the country's only nuclear power plant, according to reports out of Iran on Friday.
The Iranian news portal rouydad24 reported that air defences in the major city on the Gulf had been activated. No information about the target of the attack was initially available.
Users on social media reported an attack on an air base in Bushehr.
Israeli strikes targeting Iran's nuclear programme have damaged several nuclear sites in Iran, including the Natanz nuclear enrichment complex and nuclear sites in Isfahan.
