Fintech company Seeds, previously known as Seeds Investor, has raised $10m in a Series A financing round, led by Portage.
The round also saw ongoing support from investors Social Leverage and Blank Ventures.
Established by a group of financial advisors focused on client-oriented investing, Seeds has now secured more than $15m in total funding.
The company will use the latest investment to expedite product development, enable strategic growth through key hires, and strengthen its position as an investment management platform for RIAs.
Portage partner Stephanie Choo said: “Seeds’ vision to confront norms that hold advisors back aligns with our desire to drive meaningful change in wealth management.”
Since 2019, the RIA market has experienced significant growth, with total assets under management (AUM) rising from $91.7tn to $141.5tn, highlighted the company.
Seeds offers an all-encompassing investment management system that allows advisors to better understand their clients' goals and preferences, create tailored investment proposals, and maintain meaningful communication with clients.
By improving its product offerings throughout the investment management lifecycle, the company aims to transform how advisors interact with clients, linking portfolios to financial plans and simplifying investment decisions into actionable insights.
To drive product innovation and market expansion, Seeds has expanded its workforce, bringing in experienced leaders from the wealth management sector across various functions, including product development, sales, marketing, and customer success.
The firm has also introduced a new brand identity that is in line with its “evolving mission and vision” for wealth management’s future.
Seeds founder and CEO Zach Conway said: “This investment demonstrates a mutual commitment to build new tech that actually helps advisors deepen relationships rather than keep them entrenched in legacy tech that forces them to stay behind the scenes.
“We’re thrilled to join Portage’s vast network of like-minded financial services and technology companies working toward a better future.”
In 2022, Seeds secured $2.7m in seed funding, led by Social Leverage, which includes Stocktwits co-founder Howard Lindzon.
Other participants included The Compound Capital Fund I, Ryan Shanks of FA Match, Paul Walker, former co-head of technology at Goldman Sachs, and DuContra Ventures, founded by Adrian Grenier, along with venture capitalist Ba Minuzzi.
