Introducing the 2025 Daily Southtown Girls Soccer All-Area Team

Three players from Lincoln-Way East and two from Providence, both supersectional qualifiers, headline first and second teams.

First Team

Marissa Amador, St. Laurence, senior, goalkeeper: Led Vikings to sectional final, recording 15 shutouts and 0.68 goals-against average. All-sectional and all-conference. Committed to Benedictine.

Elizabeth Burfeind, Lincoln-Way East, junior, midfielder: Strong two-way player scored 10 goals and added 12 assists while taking on key defensive role for sectional champion. All-state and all-conference. Committed to Purdue.

Emily Crotty, Andrew, junior, midfielder: Scored 15 goals and dished out 12 assists for regional champs. All-state and all-conference.

Grace Durante, Beecher, junior, forward: Poured in 56 goals to increase program career record to 139. Added 10 assists. First all-state selection in program history. Conference’s player of the year and repeat all-area.

Galilea Esparza, Eisenhower, senior, midfielder: Contributed 18 goals and 19 assists, finishing with career totals of 69 and 59, respectively. All-state and conference player’s of the year. Committed to South Suburban College.

Ellie Feigl, Lincoln-Way East, senior, forward: Finished with 22 goals and nine assists to end career with 57 goals, second in program history. All-Midwest, all-state and conference’s player of the year. Committed to Missouri State.

Ava Kozak, Lockport, senior, forward: Scored 25 goals and broke program record for career goals with 49 in just two seasons. Added 13 assists. All-sectional and all-conference. Committed to Marquette.

Gabriela Kuruc, Lemont, sophomore, forward: Scored 24 goals and tallied 26 assists for regional champs. All-Midwest, all-state and conference’s player of the year.

Hayden Spodarek, Lockport, junior, defender: Anchored defense that recorded 11 shutouts. Added three goals — all game-winners — and nine assists. All-state and all-conference.

Abby Sudkamp, Lincoln-Way Central, senior, defender: Led sectional finalist Knights to 13 shutouts and helped them allow only 13 goals in 21 games. Contributed nine goals and five assists. All-state, all-conference and repeat all-area. Committed to Loyola.

Maggie Wolniakowski, Providence, junior, forward/midfielder: Scored 23 goals and dished out 15 assists for sectional champs. All-sectional and conference’s player of the year.

Second Team

Klara Cicha, Argo, junior, forward: Poured in 35 goals while contributing 12 assists. All-state, all-conference and repeat all-area.

Giselle Coronado, Marist, senior, defender: Anchored defense that recorded seven shutouts. Added two goals and an assist. All-sectional.

Gabby Dittmer, Sandburg, senior, midfielder: Led Eagles in goals for third straight season, finishing with 13 to bring career total to 53. All-sectional and all-conference.

Calli Edwards, Mother McAuley, junior, forward: Scored 27 goals and dished out 11 assists. All-state, all-conference and repeat all-area.

Madison Hruby, Lemont, senior, forward: Finished with 22 goals and seven assists. All-sectional and all-conference.

Adelyn Thomas, Lincoln-Way East, freshman, midfielder: Scored 22 goals, including nine in playoffs, and added 15 assists. All-sectional and all-conference.

Alexa Thompson, Providence, sophomore, defender: Anchored defense that recorded 16 shutouts and allowed just 11 goals in 25 games. Also scored a goal. All-sectional and all-conference.

Annabel Walsh, Andrew, senior, goalkeeper: Piled up 12 shutouts and 0.65 goals-against average. All-sectional and all-conference.

Maddie Walsh, Oak Forest, senior, midfielder: Defensive ace helped regional champion Bengals record 13 shutouts. Contributed seven goals and six assists. All-sectional and all-conference. Committed to Moraine Valley.

Madi Watt, Lincoln-Way Central, senior, forward: Finished with 21 goals and 11 assists. All-sectional, all-conference and repeat all-area. Committed to Eastern Illinois.

Kiersten White, Lincoln-Way West, senior, midfielder: Scored 18 goals and added two assists for regional champs. All-sectional and all-conference. Committed to Milwaukee.
