It isn't just Caitlin Clark who has been out of action for the Indiana Fever of late. They are also missing the services of veteran center-forward Damiris Dantas, who is currently away on international duty.
Dantas has been representing Brazil at the 2025 FIBA Women's AmeriCup in Santiago, Chile, where she has been a driving force for the national squad. On Monday, Dantas led Brazil to their second win of the tournament, this time taking down Canada, 74-65.
Dantas stepped it up for the national squad in this one yet again, which prompted a strong reaction from the Fever on social media.
"DD delivered in the second game of #AmeriCupW play 😈🇧🇷 Damiris Dantas led all scorers in Brazil’s 74-65 win over Canada," the team posted on Instagram.
As indicated in the post, Dantas turned in a 20-point, 14-rebound double-double in 37 minutes of action against Canada. Through two games, the 6-foot-4 center-forward is averaging a tournament-best 22.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per contest.
Brazil will be back in action on Tuesday as they battle the Dominican Republic in Group A, and Dantas will be looking to keep her foot on the gas for that one. Another win for them will virtually guarantee a spot in the knockout stage, where they will likely face off against the third- or fourth-placed team in Group B.

This only means that Dantas will be away from the Fever for an even longer period. It is clear, however, that Indiana is supporting her in her international endeavor wholeheartedly.
