Tonight marks the second annual Scott Bloomquist Memorial Scorcher, a race honoring the late great dirt-track driver at the famed Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee.
It's a fully-loaded event, featuring a $20,000-to-win, 50-lap Super Late Model main event, a $2,500-to-win, 100-lap Enduro, a Sportsman Late Model 25-lapper for $1,000 and a 20-lap Street Stock race for $600.
The event honors Dirt Super Late Model legend Scott Bloomquist, an Iowa native who died in a plane crash in August 2024. Bloomquist was inducted into the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame in its second class in 2002 and was the owner of Dirt Late Model chassis manufacturer Team Zero Race Cars.
The pits open at 2 p.m. ET on Thursday, and the grandstands will start filling up at 3 p.m. ET sharp. The races and coverage won't start until the evening, though, with FloRacing Night in America starting at 6:30 p.m. ET.
The "FloRacing Night at Volunteer" will begin with the drivers meeting and pre-race predictions at 6:30, and then prayer, national anthem, hot laps and qualifying races starting at 7 p.m. ET.
