Houck, Dobbins set for rehab appearances in Portland

Pitchers Tanner Houck and Hunter Dobbins of the Boston Red Sox will begin injury rehab assignments this weekend for the Portland Sea Dogs against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Hadlock Field.

Houck is expected to appear in a 6:20 p.m. game Friday and Dobbins in a 6 p.m. game Saturday.

Houck, who has been on the injured list since May 14 with a right flexor strain, is 0-3 with 32 strikeouts in 43 2/3 innings with Boston. He has made three rehab appearances with Triple-A Worcester, striking out five in 6 1/3 innings.

Houck pitched for the Sea Dogs in 2019, when he posted an 8-6 record with 80 strikeouts over 82 2/3 innings before being promoted to Triple-A.

Dobbins has been on the injured list since June 22 with a right elbow strain. He is 4-1 with a 4.10 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 59 1/3 innings with Boston.
