Kicker reports that Jonas Hofmann will miss Kasper Hjulmand’s first game as Bayer Leverkusen coach in the Bundesliga against Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday.
The 33-year-old attacking midfielder is working his way back to full fitness after suffering a setback from the thigh injury he sustained during pre-season.

Having struggled for playing time for some time, Hofmann will be hoping for more opportunities under Hjulmand, a coach he has worked with before.
Hofmann played a key role during his loan at Mainz 05 when the Danish coach was in charge in the 2014/15 season.
Unfortunately, after Hofmann picked up an injury, Mainz’s form began to decline, and Hjulmand was ultimately relieved of his duties.
