Grant Thornton Advisors has added Grant Thornton Netherlands to its multinational, multidisciplinary platform set up earlier in 2025.
The integration will enable the Dutch business to provide improved services to both new and existing clients, supported by investments in “quality”, “innovation”, and a focus on client-centric delivery.
Meanwhile, the platform will be strengthened with the addition of the Dutch unit’s workforce of around 800 across eight offices.
Remaining within the Grant Thornton International network, which includes member firms in more than 150 markets worldwide, the expanded platform will continue to leverage its international presence.
Subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory clearances, the deal is anticipated to complete later this year.
Besides, the audit practice of Grant Thornton Netherlands will maintain its independence through an alternative practice structure.
Grant Thornton Netherlands CEO Marcel Blöte will maintain his leadership role.
Blöte said: “Joining forces with Grant Thornton Advisors empowers us to deliver enhanced value for clients as a diversified platform poised for growth and expansion. We’ll be able to offer our people extremely attractive paths for career development, while maintaining our hallmark entrepreneurial culture and commitment to quality.
“Collectively, we will ensure our status as a top 10 firm in our market well into the future — one that can flexibly respond to a dynamic market and changing regulations.”
The platform was established through the merger of US-based Grant Thornton Advisors and Grant Thornton Ireland’s advisory and tax services.
Offering a premier advisory and tax practice, in addition to independent audit practices, the platform generates revenues of $2.7bn.
With around 60 offices across the US, Ireland, the UAE, and other territories, it focuses on delivering a unified client experience, supported by a team of approximately 13,000.
New Mountain Capital, a New York-based private equity firm, leads the investor group backing the platform.
In April 2025, Grant Thornton UAE, Grant Thornton Luxembourg and Grant Thornton (Cayman) joined the platform.
Grant Thornton Advisors CEO Jim Peko said: “By uniting with preeminent high-growth firms such as Grant Thornton Netherlands, we’ve established a world-class service provider platform spanning multinational markets.
“We will continue to solidify our standing as the industry’s destination of choice for clients and team members alike, providing a singular experience focused on quality and unparalleled service delivery.”
