WBA lightweight champion and boxing star Gervonta Davis was arrested for domestic violence in South Florida on Friday morning. Davis was pulled over in Miami Beach, as his vehicle was identified with the help of a license plate reader.
Fox Sports 640's Andy Slater reported that Davis was accused of hitting ex-girlfriend and slapping her. He has since been wanted by the authorities.
TMZ added that the incident took place on June 15, Father's Day, when Davis was picking up his kids from their mother, his ex-girlfriend. The alleged victim told the police that a verbal altercation took place and escalated to a physical extent during the handover.

The alleged victim's mother reportedly witnessed the aftermath, which included lacerations on her "visibly distressed and crying" daughter and told the authorities. Officers also said the alleged victim provided a video of the argument, during which Davis is said to have thrown a small box at her, per TMZ.
Davis has had a handful of run-ins with the authorities, several involving domestic violence and battery toward the mother of his children. Davis also fled the scene of a crash that involved a pregnant woman in November of 2020.
Baltimore police reported that Davis ran a red light on his 2020 Lamborghini Urus and struck a 2004 Toyota Salo. He faced 14 charges for the incident.
Davis last fought in March 2025 and got the first blemish on his record in a draw with Lamont Roach. He holds a 30-0-1 (W-L-D) record with 28 wins by knockout.
