While Club Brugge versus AS Monaco may not sound like the most thrilling match at first glance, the game has so far been quite exciting. After about ten minutes, Brugge's goalkeeper Mignolet caused a penalty, which he was able to save himself.

What the Monegasques left behind, the Belgians knew how to punish. And they did it right. After about half an hour, German U21 national player and former Hanoverian Nicolo Tresoldi scored 1:0 for the Belgians on his CL debut.

Just ten minutes later, Raphael Onyedika and Hans Vanaken doubled the score to 3:0 against Adi Hütter's AS Monaco.

The former Frankfurt coach certainly imagined a different start. Before the game, the French were actually listed as favorites. It remains to be seen whether there will be a comeback. Otherwise, this could turn out to be a really bitter number today.
