European pet food retailer Fressnapf Group has agreed to move its store services to GK Software’s cloud-based retail platform.

The transition is part of the company's ongoing digital transformation.

Fressnapf aims to enhance its capabilities for integrated omnichannel customer engagement while establishing a retail architecture for the future.

The retailer has more than 2,750 stores across 15 countries.

Fressnapf has used GK Software's store solution since 2013.

The recent renewal and expansion of this partnership signify a shift to an entirely cloud-native solution.

The upgrade is intended to increase the flexibility of in-store processes, support a comprehensive omnichannel strategy and facilitate quicker modifications.

The company aims to redesign all digital touchpoints in stores, covering point-of-sales (POS), merchandise management and mobile consulting, enhancing both customer and employee experiences.

Workshops held with GK defined requirements for the new system to ensure that it effectively supports staff and store operations.

Fressnapf product development digital store solution vice-president Randy John stated: “GK CLOUD4RETAIL's ability to combine the strengths of a reliable platform with modular extensions is a key success factor for us.

“We want to offer our stores and employees a solution that supports them in all services: a stable, user-friendly and reliable POS system that can be constantly expanded with additional functions. GK has proven itself over many years as a reliable and innovative partner in the market and has once again demonstrated this in our demanding selection process.”

The CLOUD4RETAIL platform has more than 65 country adaptations.

GK Software CEO Michael Scheibner stated: “The platform is designed to quickly implement innovations, simplify processes and personalise customer experiences across all channels.”
