Welsh fly-half Arwel Robson has returned to Cornish Pirates almost two years after departing the club.

The 28-year-old made 51 appearances and scored 307 points for the Pirates before leaving to join his boyhood club Cardiff in September 2023.

A spell in France with third tier side Stade Olympique Chamberien Rugby followed, where he was part of a squad who finished top of the Nationale but lost out on promotion to Pro D2 in the play-offs.

"I'm really excited to be coming home to the Cornish Pirates – a club that means a lot to me and my family," he told the club's website, external.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my first spell here and it was always a goal of mine to return one day."

Robson's return follows the news of scrum-half Will Rigelsford and prop Ben Woodmansey agreeing new deals with the club last week.

Pirates have not stated the length of Robson's contract.
