Fever Coach Stephanie White Calls Out WNBA After Caitlin Clark Altercation vs Sun

The Connecticut Sun were defeated by the Indiana Fever 88-71 on Tuesday evening. It was a game where the Sun had everything together in the first quarter, but things fell apart for them later from there. Tina Charles led the way with 20 points, four rebounds, and three assists, and Olivia Nelson-Ododa followed with 14 points and eight rebounds.

Besides people being focused on the actual game, there were multiple altercations that went on, as the first one involved Marina Mabrey shoving Caitlin Clark in the third quarter after the Fever guard and Jacy Sheldon got into it. Clark, Mabrey, and Tina Charles were called for assessed technical fouls, and Sheldon received a flagrant.

Later in the fourth quarter, Sheldon was driving to the paint, and Sophie Cunningham tossed her to the floor without making a real play on the basket. Cunningham was then assessed a flagrant-2 foul and was ejected.

After the game, Fever head coach Stephanie White spoke about the Clark altercation.

"I've seen quite a few dust-ups in the league so far, so I think it's a league-wide issue," White said when asked about the officiating. "Bad officiating is bad officiating."

White then shared her thoughts on the flagrant foul that was assessed to Cunningham that led to her ejection.

"It was a flagrant foul," White said.

It will be interesting to see if there are any repercussions that come from the aftermath of the game. There's a good chance that Cunningham could see discipline for her play late in the game.
