The Philadelphia Eagles shouldn't sleep on the New York Giants this year in their race for the NFC East crown.
As the Philadelphia Eagles prepare for their attempt to become the first team in the NFC East to win back-to-back division titles since their 2004 squad, they know that things won't be easy this season.
Despite their runs as Super Bowl LIX Champions, the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders each got better this offseason. Washington added Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil to a roster that won 12 games last season. Dak Prescott is healthy for Dallas and the team added George Pickens to their offense.
What if we told you the Cowboys and Commanders may not be Philadelphia's biggest competition this season?
That role might just be within reach of the New York Giants.
Shocking? Let’s walk through this …
Despite having a "last-place schedule" New York has one of the toughest slates going into the 2025 season. A big reason for that is because they have to play the former 12-win Commanders, and 14-win Eagles four times combined next season.
A last place schedule, though, should give the Giants a chance to improve their win total going into the new year. An improved defense with Abdul Carter joining Kayvon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns as edge rushers is also a major concern for opposing offenses.
Their secondary has major concerns, but they also won multiple Super Bowls with a historically great pass rush, and mediocre secondary. It could certainly happen again if teams aren't careful.
Then there's rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart and Russell Wilson. The former Super Bowl champion has lost just once in his history to the Eagles, while Dart could be the kind of rookie signal-caller that takes the league by storm.
Whatever the case, the Giants should be better this season than in the last few years. And the Eagles better be on high alert moving forward.
