Eagles Legend Responds As Fox Sports Cancels His Show in Stunning Shakeup

Jul 16, 2025 6:37 PM EDT

Former Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy learned Monday that the sports media business can be just as unpredictable as the NFL when Fox Sports delivered unexpected news about his television future.

FS1 announced the cancellation of three weekday shows, including “The Facility,” which McCoy had co-hosted since September alongside Emmanuel Acho, Chase Daniel, and James Jones. The move marks another major programming shakeup for the network as it continues to reshape its daily lineup.

McCoy’s response on social media showed his signature humor and resilience.

“Damn fired on my day off, WELL put me on the trading block,” he posted on X, drawing laughs from fans who appreciated his lighthearted take on the setback.

The former Pro Bowler added some veteran perspective.
“Speak and facility was a blast I got some announcements coming soon but one thing I do kno from football is TALENT & DEDICATION always wins see u sooooon,” McCoy wrote.

Perhaps most tellingly, McCoy compared his media experience to his NFL playing days.

“My last year with Buffalo we couldn’t see eye to eye on a pay cut so I asked to be released … lol all my NFL brothas I know ya pain now,” he wrote.

The cancellation affects “Speak” and “Breakfast Ball” as well, with all three shows reportedly struggling with ratings. “The Facility” aired from 10 a.m. to noon, featuring four former NFL players offering their take on sports from a player’s perspective.

McCoy transitioned to television after retiring following the 2020 NFL season. During his playing days, he established himself as one of the most dynamic running backs of his era — especially during his six seasons with the Eagles from 2009 to 2014.

The Pittsburgh product amassed 6,792 rushing yards and 44 touchdowns with the Eagles, earning three Pro Bowl selections and two first-team All-Pro honors. His 2013 season remains iconic, leading the NFL with 1,607 rushing yards.

After leaving Philadelphia in a 2015 trade, McCoy continued his success with the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, ultimately winning Super Bowl championships with both Kansas City and Tampa Bay.

While McCoy’s future at Fox Sports remains uncertain, his social media posts suggest he’s already working on his next opportunity. Fans can still catch him on “The 25/10 Show,” a podcast he co-hosts with former Eagles teammate DeSean Jackson.

McCoy’s optimistic tone and hints at upcoming announcements suggest this setback won’t derail his media career. His charisma and football knowledge make him a strong candidate for networks looking to add authentic player voices to their coverage.
