Deion Sanders Looks Unrecognizable, Sparks Fan Concern Over Health

Coach Prime hopes to be back with his team in the near future

Deion Sanders continues to deal with an unknown health issue at his house in Texas. The 57-year-old Colorado Buffaloes coach hasn't returned to Boulder in nearly two months and there's no timetable established on when he'll be back.

Despite the setback, Sanders welcomed Travis Hunter for a visit this week. The two enjoyed time fishing off the boat in the middle of Coach Prime's property in a moment captured by Well Off Media. This is the first time Sanders has seen Hunter since he was married last month. It's also the first time in nearly a month 'Prime Time' has made an appearance in front of the camera.

Fans were excited to see him and noticed a visibly slimmer Sanders. This coincides with Coach Prime saying he recently loss 14 pounds. He made no comments during the video, which seemed out of character for him. Many people reacted with concerns in the Instagram comments seeing Sanders' appearance.

“He looks like he lost a lot of weight,” Cast415 wrote.

Good to see Trav got to come visit Coach and get him out the house to do what he love! Continued healing over your body, mind and spirit Coach!!," Sade said.

"I love how we can smile and laugh about this cause we all locked in and know what it mean," Papa Gregg noted.

Sanders has dealt with his share of health issues over the past five years. He had two toes amputated while at Jackson State in 2021. On top of that, Coach Prime also went under the knife to have blood clots removed for both legs.

Sanders signed a five-year, $54 million extension with Colorado during the offseason. He became the highest-paid coach in the Big 12 conference. The Buffs open the 2025 season against Georgia Tech on Friday, August 29 (8 p.m. ET, ESPN).
