David Moyes suggests Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitalii Mykolenko are “making progress” ahead of the Merseyside derby.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Moyes also mentioned that he’s dealing with "a couple of other knocks" elsewhere in the squad, while the availability of Branthwaite and Mykolenko cannot be ruled out.
"Look, they [Branthwaite and Mykolenko] are making progress and we'll see. We've got a couple of other knocks within the camp but we'll see how they are,” said Moyes.
"We have a squad of players and you hope that the players who you give the opportunities [when there are injuries] that they can hang on to the jersey. I thought Michael [Keane] has done great for us in the games he's played and long may that continue."
Branthwaite is yet to play an official game for Everton this season while Mykolenko returned from an injury to play against Mansfield Town and Wolves before suffering another setback while on international duty with Ukraine.
