Dallas Wings Star Matches Historic Diana Taurasi Record Against Minnesota Lynx

Diana Taurasi is widely considered the greatest WNBA player of all time. Not only does she lead the league in all-time scoring with 10,646 points, but she's also a proven winner with three championships and one MVP award.

So, any time a player is mentioned in the same breath as Taurasi, it's always special.

Interestingly, All-Star guard Arike Ogunbowale earned such recognition on Wednesday when she matched a Taurasi record in the Dallas Wings' showdown with the Minnesota Lynx.

According to the WNBA, Ogunbowale tied Taurasi "for the fastest player to reach 500 career 3PM" in league history.

Ogunbowale entered the game needing just two 3-pointers to breach the 500 triples mark. It's also only her 198th game in the WNBA after being drafted fifth overall in 2019.

It is interesting to note that Diana Taurasi leads the WNBA in all-time 3-pointers made with 1,447.

Arike Ogunbowale is currently in the Top 20 on the list, although she's well on track to crack the top 10 if she maintains her career average of 2.5 triples per game. The current No. 10 on the all-time 3-pointers made list is Tamika Catchings with 606 treys made in her career.

It remains to be seen if Ogunbowale will be able to maintain her shooting production this 2025 WNBA season. However, with her latest accomplishment, it's safe to assume that she has a shot at dethroning Taurasi in the future.
