Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week

Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey has been named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 2. It should come as no surprise to anyone on this planet or throughout the entire solar system. This is Aubrey’s third time winning the award and it ties him for the most in franchise history with Chris Boniol, Billy Cundiff, Dan Bailey, and Brett Maher.

Aubrey was a perfect four-for-four as far as field goals were concerned during the team’s win against the New York Giants. He nailed kicks from 51, 44, 64, and 46 yards out with the final two sending the game to overtime and then winning it outright. He also made all four of his extra points on the afternoon.

It feels more than fair to say that Aubrey is the best kicker in the NFL at the moment. Beyond being able to casually swing a 64-yarder in high-pressure situations he is also extremely accurate and is so from all over the field. The Cowboys are incredibly fortunate to have him.
