Chicago Sky guard Courtney Vandersloot underwent successful surgery to repair her torn right ACL, the team announced Tuesday. The veteran floor general's 2025 WNBA season ended prematurely when she sustained the injury in a 79-52 loss to the Indiana Fever on June 7.
Vandersloot went up for a layup in the first quarter of the game when she fell and had to be carried off the court.

The Sky said that Dr. Brian J. Cole of Midwest Orthopedics performed the surgery. A timeline for her return remains unknown as ACL tears typically take about a year to heal.
The 36-year-old clocked in just 10 games this season and averaged 10.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 5.3 assists as the Sky went 2-5 before her injury. Chicago's struggles continued in her absence as they are now 3-10.
Vandersloot spent the first 12 seasons of her WNBA in Chicago and returned this year after two seasons with the New York Liberty. In Brooklyn, Vandersloot helped the Liberty to their first title in 2024, earning her second ring after winning with Chicago in 2021.
She signed a one-year deal worth $185,000 with the Sky after leaving New York as a free agent. Vandersloot became the Sky's all-time scoring leader in May after overtaking her wife, Allie Quigley, reaching 3,724 points in a 97-92 win over the Dallas Wings.
