Computer Model Predicts Exact Score of Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese Game

The 2025 WNBA regular season tipped off Friday night with three games to open the action. Included was the debut of Dallas Wings rookie Paige Bueckers and the inaugural game for the Golden State Valkyries.

But many have their sights set on Saturday's slate of games, including when Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky travel to Indianapolis to face Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.

During the 2024 season, the Fever got the best of the Sky, winning three out of four games by a combined 28 points. But Chicago was able to squeak out an 88-87 win in the third matchup thanks to 25 points and 16 rebounds from Reese.

On Friday, The Athletic's computer model predicted the final score of the first Clark vs. Reese battle of the 2025 WNBA season. Their "prediction uses a team strength comparison algorithm, which includes multiple factors such as strength of wins and scoring margin."

With that being said, The Athletic has Clark and the Fever defeating Reese and the Sky by a final score of 87-79.

Both the Fever and Sky went through some major offseason changes, giving them different looks for the new season.

Indiana brought in head coach Stephanie White and added WNBA veterans DeWanna Bonner, Sophie Cunningham, and Natasha Howard, two of whom have earned spots in the starting lineup.

Chicago, on the other hand, also added a new head coach, replacing Teresa Weatherspoon with Tyler Marsh, a former Pacers and Aces assistant. They also brought back point guard Courtney Vandersloot, who helped bring Chicago a championship in 2021. The Sky even added two-time All-Star Ariel Atkins.

The Fever will host the Sky on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. ET, which will be nationally televised on ABC. With the new 44-game WNBA schedule, the two teams will meet five times in 2025, with the next coming on June 7 in Chicago.
