Chinese Stocks Rise After Trade Boost
Chinese stocks rose Monday after exports data jumped in June amid a trade truce between the U.S. and China.
China’s exports rose 5.8% year over year in June beating economists’ expectations for a 4.8% rise, according to FactSet data. Exports to the U.S. fell 16.1%, though this was an improvement on the 34% slump it reported in May.
The world’s two largest economies agreed the framework of a deal after talks in Geneva in May and confirmed the details of that agreement last month ahead of an Aug. 12 deadline for an official deal.
