Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes Reveals His One Goal for This Season

Patrick Mahomes is gearing up for his ninth NFL season after being selected No. 10 overall by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2017 draft.

In Year 8, the two-time league MVP posted the lowest passing yard total of his career as the Chiefs’ full-time starter. His 3,928 yards ranked seventh in the league but fell well short of the 5,250 he accumulated in 2022.

Despite the dip in production, Mahomes still led his team to the Super Bowl for the fifth time in the past six seasons.

The offseason isn’t over yet, but with training camp set to begin in a couple of weeks, the Chiefs are already getting ready. On Sunday, the team posted photos from their media production day, showing their two quarterbacks, Mahomes and backup Gardner Minshew, holding "2025 Roll Call" boards.

Both players answered some basic questions for fans to get to know them better, almost like a back-to-school activity. On the board, Mahomes and Minshew had to fill in what their goal is for the 2025-26 NFL season.

Mahomes wrote, "Get a Super Bowl win."

It’s no surprise Mahomes is focused on winning his fourth Super Bowl, especially after coming up short in February of becoming the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive titles.

The Chiefs finished their best regular season in franchise history at 15-2, but the 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX will remain in the back of their minds for a long time.

With a fourth ring, Mahomes would join Tom Brady (seven), Joe Montana (four) and Terry Bradshaw (four) as the only quarterbacks ever to win that many.

As it stands, the Chiefs have the fourth-best odds to win the upcoming Super Bowl at +750 (ESPN Bet). The Eagles lead at +650, while the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills are tied for second-best at +700.
