The Kansas City Chiefs didn't appear to be in the best of shape post the Los Angeles Chargers loss, with receiver Xavier Worthy dislocating his shoulder just a handful of plays into the contest.
With Worthy ruled out, many looked to the long-term for the speed merchant, as there was a real thought he could miss a significant chunk of the season with his injury, and for a Chiefs team needing all their weapons available, this was less than ideal.
But the football gods, while initially looking to play a cruel prank on the Kansas City offense, might have just given the roster a little bit of a reprieve when it comes to Worthy's injury and his status for Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Head coach Andy Reid spoke on Xavier's shoulder injury, and it will come as quite a sense of relief for Chiefs Kingdom.
"I know Xavier is the big question," Reid said via Chiefs team report Matt McMullen. "He's rehabbing and working his shoulder. We'll just see where it goes, day-by-day here. We'll see where we end up."

For Worthy to be "just" day by day is a huge thing for the Chiefs, who saw a host of their receivers miss big chunks of time last season, and already without Rashee Rice due to his suspension, having Worthy back soon is huge.
When could Xavier Worthy return?
The simple fact that Worthy is day-to-day suggests Kansas City isn't ruling out its receiver for Week 2, but a dislocated shoulder can be a problematic thing to deal with.
Would the Chiefs rush Worthy back in an attempt not to start the season 0-2 and potentially risk having him less than 100 percent? We don't see it, but then again, it does feel like gut-check time for the AFC champs right now.
Worthy is listed as day to day, but how much the Chiefs push his return over the next few days will be telling.
Yes, Kansas City caught a break with his injury, but will the franchise rush him back?
