Chargers Select Five Players to Fight in Hilarious Viral "100 Men vs 1 Gorilla" Debate

Since social media was introduced to the world about 20 years ago it has shown an uncanny ability to influence global trends.

These started out as viral dances and catchphrases and have now evolved into memes and even AI content creation.

The latest trend that has been sweeping the nation on various social media platforms like X/Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.

People have been debating whether 100 grown men could defeat a single gorilla and anyone you can think of has given their opinion on the discussion.

It may not be the biggest trend to ever grace social media yet, but it is unique because like the ALS ice bucket challenge and Harlem Shake trends of the early 2010’s, the 100 men vs one gorilla debate has caught the attention of the professional sports world.

Earlier today, the Los Angeles Chargers named their top five candidates from their team that they would send to help fight the gorilla

Of course, there are some big guys that made the list but a few of the selections are hilariously random.

The five Chargers that were chosen were offensive lineman Joe Alt and Mekhi Becton, linebacker Daiyan Henley, edge rusher Khalil Mack and safety Derwin James.

The first four names make perfect sense because they are all over six-feet-tall and weigh more than 200 pounds.

The James pick is where things get a little bit weird.

He is also over six-feet-tall, but he has the smallest frame here by far.

If he truly made the roster to fight the gorilla, he might be on the front line to be volunteered as sacrifice.
