'Real lack of quality'published at 14:05 BST

Ex-Southampton midfielder on BBC Radio SolentSouthampton were horrendous in the first half, way too many loose passes. They were clearing the ball just for the sake of it. There was a lack of quality in my eyes.
It was better in the second half because the tempo was better, but they need to improve.
Southampton not bringing in a striker in the transfer window is a big mistake.

Former Portsmouth manager on BBC Radio SolentWhen you come to games like this, you have to be troubling the goalkeeper and neither side did that.
A very good point and a decent performance from Pompey in the end.

FT: Southampton 0-0 Portsmouth
An enteraining South Coast derby ends goalless.
Pompey had the best of the first half with Andre Dozzell hitting the crossbar from distance.
Saints were much improved after the break but both sides struggled to create clearcut chances that could win the game.
A great occasion at St Mary's, only the second ever goalless draw between the rivals, with the draw probably a fair result.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis heads the out-swinging corner over the bar and that might be that.
In fact that is that, full-time, all square.

Andre Dozzell whips in a dangerous ball but it's well taken by Gavin Bazunu and he sets his Saints side away.
Zak Swanson is penalised for a foul on the touchline against Leo Scienza.
Ryan Manning sends in the deep ball and it's cleared behind for a corner.

Josh Murphy has been brilliant all afternoon on the left for Pompey.
This time he's on the edge of the box and fires a low ball across the face which goes agonisingly wide of the post with his team-mates unable to find the crucial touch.
INJURY TIMEpublished at 90+1 min
Southampton 0-0 Portsmouth
Four minutes added on for one of these two sides to find a winner.

BBC Radio Solent commentatorThe tension is just ratcheting up in the final few minutes of this one.
Portsmouth just need to be careful not to give the ball away as much.
'Really even game'published at 13:52 BST
Southampton 0-0 Portsmouth
Jo Tessem
Ex-Southampton midfielder on BBC Radio SolentSouthampton have not taken advantage of their attacking pace to get in behind this Pompey defence.
It has been a really even game so far but one shot on target for each team tells the story.
It is now a matter of are you going to try and win, or just not lose it.

Nerves just starting to show as Pompey keeper Ben Killip boots it straight out for a throw-in.
Not what his team-mates needed there.

Wow, how does this not go in.
Josh Murphy again with a wicked delivery and Colby Bishop somehow fails to knock it in but he's flagged for offside anyway.
Saints boss Will Still is booked for his complaints after Murphy goes down under a challenge from Caspar Jander, which looked very soft.
'Southampton looking very attacking'published at 13:48 BST

A big 10 minutes now.

Pompey are also making a change as Luke Le Roux finally comes on, having been prepped in the first half.
Terry Devlin also comes on in place of Adrian Segicic and John Swift.
Le Roux sees the chance to stamp his authority on this game with a very long-range effort which is easy for Gavin Bazunu.
Pompey's first effort on target.

Changes coming up for Saints as Finn Azaz, Cameron Archer and Flynn Downes are off, with Adam Armstrong, Caspar Jander and Ross Stewart on.
Ben Killip is OK to continue for Pompey.
CLOSE!published at 74 min

Great refereeing to let a foul on Finn Azaz go and let Saints attack.
Tom Fellows shoots for the hosts and it's deflected behind before John Swift is shown the yellow card for the initial foul.
Now, Portsmouth substitute keeper Ben Killip is down with a leg injury.
'Game is on a knife edge'published at 13:35 BST
Southampton 0-0 Portsmouth
Adam Blackmore
BBC Radio Solent sports editorWe are almost into the final quarter of the match, and the Saints have barely had a proper sight of goal. The tempo has been upped, but they still haven't tested Ben Killip.
This game is certainly on a knife edge.

Good defending from Mads Roerslev to block Josh Murphy's cross after a beautiful turn from Andre Dozzell sets the winger away.
Saints get the corner away but Pompey keep the ball and it will come back.
