Ex-Southampton midfielder on BBC Radio SolentSouthampton were horrendous in the first half, way too many loose passes. They were clearing the ball just for the sake of it. There was a lack of quality in my eyes.
It was better in the second half because the tempo was better, but they need to improve.
Southampton not bringing in a striker in the transfer window is a big mistake.

Pompey had the best of the first half with Andre Dozzell hitting the crossbar from distance.
Saints were much improved after the break but both sides struggled to create clearcut chances that could win the game.
A great occasion at St Mary's, only the second ever goalless draw between the rivals, with the draw probably a fair result.
