Tomorrow, OM takes on Ajax Amsterdam during the second matchday of the Champions League group stage. In front of the press, Roberto De Zerbi made his ambitions clear.
Despite the defeat away to Real Madrid (1-2) in the opening round, OM manager Roberto De Zerbi remains confident in his squad’s ability to put together a strong campaign.
"I believe OM can make their mark in this competition. I don't know exactly what we'll achieve, but I know we belong here. I’ll say it again, I really like this group of players. They’re strong, positive, and passionate about football. When we meet and talk, I can see in their eyes that they feel what I’m saying—whether it’s about our style of play, the strategy, the mental side, or game management. We built this team together to get here and to stay here. It’s tough, because we’re talking about the Champions League, the hardest and most prestigious competition, so we need to keep our feet on the ground. But we have to play with pride, using our strengths and qualities," the Italian coach told the press on Monday.
We’ll have the answer tomorrow at the Vélodrome.
