Compared to other years, the Boston Celtics do not seem to be in the best position.
They will be without Jayson Tatum for the foreseeable future, Al Horford is still a free agent, and they have no quality starting center.
However, Fansided’s Jack Simone has an idea that could help solve some of their problems, and it revolves around recently acquired Anfernee Simons.
“In its current state, the Bulls roster doesn’t need Simons. They have four point guards already on the roster in (Josh) Giddey, (Coby) White, (Ayo) Dosunmu, and Tre Jones. That said, Simons can play off the ball, and depending on which player they like more, perhaps they could want to add him to the mix,” Simone said Tuesday.
“The Celtics are in a bind at the center position. They need Neemias Queta to pan out if they want to be competitive this season, but adding a quality center to the mix would be very useful. Perhaps (Nikola) Vučević could fill that void.”
Vučević is currently 34 years old, but will be 35 for all of next season. That being said, he does not fit the current state of the Chicago Bulls roster.

For the past couple of years, Vučević has been involved in trade rumors, but no more than this offseason.
Both he and Simons would become free agents after this season, so both teams could experiment with these theoretical rosters.
After Josh Giddey’s $100 million extension, the odds of Vučević being brought back are slim, and you may as well get younger if possible.
Next season, the Celtics will be reliant on a center with little experience, no matter the direction they go when choosing their starter.
In that case, grabbing Vučević to help Jaylen Brown compete for a championship may be their best option.
