The Arizona Cardinals have started the season 2-0, something they haven’t done since 2021. However, there’s a lot riding on this year. Kyler Murray has been the starting quarterback in Arizona for some time, but there was chatter coming into the season that this could be his last shot if he doesn’t perform up to expectations.
“He is as physically gifted as any player in the league,” Fox Sports’ Henry McKenna wrote. “He plays with flair — even his scrambling is dramatic because of the way he runs. He makes highlight plays that are truly transcendent. But he can’t figure out how to convert those big plays into wins. Ultimately, Murray is 1) either incapable of putting the team on his back, or 2) incapable of picking the right moments to put the team on his back, or 3) both. Unless he turns a corner with his decision-making and patience — this season — he might find himself on the hot seat in Arizona.”
So far, Murray has led the Cardinals to an undefeated start, but it’s come with a tradeoff: Marvin Harrison Jr. hasn’t been heavily involved in the passing game. When asked about it, Murray gave a direct and honest response.
“There's only 1 ball and I've said before I wish I can get all my guys 10 or more targets. Sometimes Marvs gonna get 10 and other times he’ll get 3. It is what it is,” Murray told the media.
The second-year wide receiver was also asked about the lack of targets, and he kept it professional:
“That's a silly conversation, really,” Harrison said.

It doesn’t seem to be bothering the duo too much that Harrison isn’t getting more looks. With that mindset, the Cardinals are in a good place. As long as outside noise doesn’t create division, Arizona could be looking at a legitimate playoff run.
While Harrison’s touches have been limited so far, it wouldn’t be surprising to see his usage increase quickly. And when that happens, the entire Cardinals offense could take off.
