Bucks' Doc Rivers has a scary new vision for Giannis Antetokounmpo

Over the past few weeks, the Milwaukee Bucks have made some big moves, but one of their biggest moves could be internal.

The Bucks stole all headlines early in free agency when they signed Myles Turner to a four-year, $107 million deal and waived and stretched Damian Lillard to make it happen. Of course, those big moves were not only to get the team closer to contention, but also to ensure that Giannis Antetokounmpo will be sticking around.

Antetokounmpo and Milwaukee have seemed interested in sticking together for at least another year. While some teams are still holding out hope that the two-time MVP becomes available, Bucks coach Doc Rivers is already thinking about what next season could look like.

At Vegas Summer League, Rivers made an appearance on the NBATV broadcast and talked about his vision for the Bucks star next season.

“Having [Antetokounmpo] bring it up every time, everyone in the league right now is pressuring the ball, nobody’s pressuring Giannis,” Rivers said. “So, it allowed us, even against Indiana, to bring the ball up pressure-free.”

Along with bringing the ball up without any pressure, Rivers also explained the advantage of having the ball in the hands of the most dangerous player on the floor. He also expected Gary Trent Jr. and AJ Green to have breakout seasons as the key shooting threats alongside Antetokounmpo.

While it’s difficult to predict how next season might unfold for the Bucks, there could be a chance for Milwaukee to make a run if Antetokounmpo excels in this role.
