The 2025 season could be quite the occasion for Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans has been the epitome of consistency since his NFL career began in 2014.
Evans has posted 11 straight seasons of 1,000+ yards, tying the record with Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, as Evans managed the feat last season in the last game with under two minutes left.
He is hoping that the 2025 season won't be as hectic as he looks to move to outright first with 12 consecutive 1,000-yard seasons to break the record.
And ESPN's Mike Clay, in his 2025 projection, has Evans doing that...but only just.
Mike Evans 2025 projection: 80 receptions, 1029 yards, nine touchdowns.
So, Evans breaks the record and does so with his most receptions since 2018, and the nine touchdowns are nothing to sneeze at either.
Despite the addition of Emeka Egbuka and a healthy Chris Godwin, Evans still leads the Buccaneers in yards, receptions, and touchdowns, which has been the norm throughout his stellar career.
The Buccaneers are seen as an NFL dark horse, with some thinking that an NFC Championship appearance might be in their future in 2025. If that does come to fruition, we imagine that Evans will have played to his Pro Bowl level.
Evans and his streak have been one of the most closely watched statistical phenomena over the past couple of seasons, with many just waiting for the one season the six-time Pro Bowler doesn't reach that mark.
However, if you are waiting for him to fail, based on Clay's projections, it won't be in 2025.
