Browns given savage insult by Cleveland newspaper after ugly loss to Ravens

The Cleveland Browns have lost eight games in a row, dating back to last season. It's their longest losing streak since they went 0-16 for a full season.

It might not get better anytime soon, either. Everyone in Cleveland is bracing for a long football season that will mercifully, eventually give way to the exciting Cleveland Cavaliers.

In the meantime, though, the Browns are set up to be one of the laughingstocks of the NFL.

Their latest trouble came Sunday in Baltimore, when the Ravens took advantage of mistake after mistake in a runaway 41-17 victory.

And back home in Cleveland, The Plain Dealer seized its moment.

The city's historic newspaper didn't hold back on its front page headline:

"At least the kicker didn't miss."

The Browns had lost in Week 1 after new kicker Andre Szmyt missed both an extra point and a short field goal in a one-point defeat.

Szmyt made his kicks Sunday, not that it mattered in a game that was decided by 24 points.

Not to worry, though, for loyal subscribers to The Plain Dealer. The Browns should provide plenty more opportunity for painful headlines the rest of the way.
