Big Game For Angel Reese Draws Strong Statement from WNBA

The Chicago Sky saw their two-game winning streak come to an end Monday night. After beating the Minnesota Lynx in Chicago on Saturday, the Sky struggled in the second half and fell 91-78 in the rematch.

Despite the loss, second-year forward Angel Reese continued her dominant stretch with her ninth straight double-double. The streak began on June 22 in Atlanta, and she has recorded double-digit points and rebounds in every game since.

Reese finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists. She shot 9-of-14 from the field and went 4-of-6 from the free throw line.

Her performance drew another round of praise from the league and fans.

"Angel Reese is ownin' the paint," the WNBA tweeted following the game.

Reese, the seventh overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, played all 34 games in her rookie season and averaged 13.6 points and a league-best 13.1 rebounds per game.

She was one of three Sky players to score in double figures Monday. Rachel Banham added 15 points and Rebecca Allen scored 10 off the bench in 18 minutes. Kamilla Cardoso struggled, finishing with just six points.
